Massage Candle Info
What is a massage candle?
Our Alder & Spice massage candles are made to enjoy either solo or with a partner (or parters!) These are lightly scented, skin-safe candles meant to relax and arouse.
What materials are used in your massage candles?
Our massage candles are made with a special blend of 100% soy wax, unrefined shea butter, and jojoba oil.
How can I safely store and burn my new candle (general)?
Make sure to store your new candle inside, in a room that stays between 50-85°F, away from direct sunlight. If your candle accidentally got too cold (for example, you left it in the car overnight in winter) make sure to leave it at room temperature for 2 hours prior to lighting it.
Tips for a happy and safe burn:
- Trim your candle wick before lighting. Mushrooming or curling of the wick is normal, but for best burn quality, the wick should be trimmed to 1/4 inch height.
- Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and ensure there's a clear space around it.
- Always keep the candle within your sight while it's burning, and make sure it's kept away from flammable objects, children, and pets.
How do I properly burn and use a massage candle?
You can store your new massage candle the same way you'd store any of our other candle, and the general burning steps should be the same, with a few differences
Special usage steps:
- Light your massage candle and burn for just a few minutes (up to 10) to get a small melt pool.
- Blow out the flame, let the melt pool cool for a minute or two, then apply to skin. We recommend trying a small test patch before applying to a large area.
- Massage the warm wax and oils into skin for as long as desired.
- Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and ensure there's a clear space around it.
NEVER pour wax when flame is still lit, this is a safety hazard!
